The first Bing Crosby National Pro-Am Championship was held in 1947. Bing was the host and a participant in his own tournament until 1956 when he paired up with Ben Hogan for their final appearance as players in the nation's most star-studded golf contest. This photograph was snapped in 1951 by world-famous photographer Julian P. Graham*. * Julian P. Graham's (1886-1963) camera shop and dark room was situated across from the entryway to The Lodge for many years. As the official photographer for Del Monte Properties (now the Pebble Beach Company) from 1924 to 1963, his access to photograph people, places and things in and around Pebble Beach was unequalled.
